Method 1: Transfer Emails from Gmail to Outlook (Windows & Mac)

Step 1: Enable IMAP in Gmail

1. Open Gmail and click the Settings (⚙️) > See all settings.

2. Go to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.

3. Under IMAP access, select Enable IMAP.

4. Click Save Changes.

Step 2: Add Your Gmail Account to Outlook

1. Open Outlook and click File > Add Account.

2. Enter your Gmail address and click Connect.

3. Enter your Gmail password (or App Password if 2-Step Verification is on).

4. Click Next, then Done when setup is complete.

Step 3: Move Emails from Gmail to Outlook

1. In Outlook, your Gmail emails will appear in a new folder.

2. Select the emails you want to move.

3. Drag and drop them into your Outlook Inbox or another folder.

4. Wait for Outlook to sync (this may take time depending on the email size).

💡 Tip: If you have a lot of emails, consider using Outlook’s Import/Export tool to speed up the process.

Method 2: Transfer Emails from Outlook to Gmail

Step 1: Enable IMAP in Gmail

Follow Step 1 from the previous method to enable IMAP in Gmail.

Step 2: Add Your Gmail Account to Outlook

1. Open Outlook and go to File > Add Account.

2. Enter your Gmail address and click Connect.

3. Enter your Gmail password (or App Password if required).

4. Click Next, then Done.

Step 3: Move Emails from Outlook to Gmail

1. In Outlook, open the folder containing the emails you want to transfer.

2. Select emails and drag them into your Gmail inbox or another folder inside Gmail.

3. Outlook will sync the changes, and the emails will appear in your Gmail account.

💡 Tip: If you want to migrate everything, use the Import/Export tool in Outlook and save your emails as a PST file, then upload them to Gmail using Google’s Takeout or Import tool.

Method 3: Migrate Emails Between Two Gmail Accounts

Step 1: Enable POP in the Source Gmail Account

1. Sign in to Gmail (old account).

2. Click Settings (⚙️) > See all settings.

3. Go to Forwarding and POP/IMAP.

4. Under POP download, select Enable POP for all mail.

5. Click Save Changes.

Step 2: Link the Old Gmail Account to the New One

1. Sign in to your new Gmail account.

2. Click Settings (⚙️) > See all settings.

3. Go to the Accounts and Import tab.

4. Under Check mail from other accounts, click Add a mail account.

5. Enter your old Gmail address and click Next.

6. Select Import emails using POP3, then enter:

POP Server: pop.gmail.com

Port: 995

Username: Your full Gmail address

Password: Your Gmail password (or App Password)

7. Check Always use a secure connection (SSL).

8. Click Add Account.

Step 3: for Gmail to Import Emails

1. Gmail will now start importing all emails from your old account.

2. The process might take a few hours or days, depending on how many emails you have.

3. Once done, you will find all your old emails inside your new account.

💡 Tip: If you want to continue receiving emails from the old account, enable “Leave a copy of retrieved messages on the server” during setup.

Method 4: Migrate Emails Between Two Outlook Accounts

Step 1: Export Emails from the Old Outlook Account

1. Open Outlook and go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export.

2. Select Export to a file and click Next.

3. Choose Outlook Data File (.pst) and click Next.

4. Select the folders you want to export (Inbox, Sent Items, etc.).

5. Click Browse, choose where to save the file, and click Finish.

Step 2: Import Emails into the New Outlook Account

1. Open Outlook and go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export.

2. Select Import from another program or file and click Next.

3. Choose Outlook Data File (.pst) and click Next.

4. Browse and select the PST file you exported earlier.

5. Click Finish to start the import process.

Your old emails will now appear in your new Outlook account.
